Spam Filter Training

As you classify your e-mail in the quarantine area, as spam or not spam, your spam filters become more accurate.

Once you are logged in to the MISN Spam Firewall your interface will look like what is seen in the next image.

You will see e-mail that the spam firewall thought could be spam. In this case, these are example messages and not spam.

You can double-click your mouse on any one of the messages and see what the message and the message source looks like.

Messages will pop up in a viewing window which is seperate from the quarantine window like what is seen in the next image.

If you believe that a message is spam, select it, and click the button “Classify as Spam”. It will immediately be deleted.

In the future, the spam filter will use what you have classified as spam to determine if your future e-mail is spam or not spam.

If you believe that a message is not spam, select it, and click the button “Classify as Not Spam”. It will immediately be delivered to your mailbox.

In the future, the spam filter will use what you have classified as spam to determine if your future e-mail is spam or not spam.
